My First Post

Well, I'm a little late in the game, but the idea just came to me recently. On May 25, 2007, I lost my dearest friend Eddy to multiple myeloma. He bravely fought this devastating disease for four-and-a-half years. He was fifty-eight years old. The following October, two of his daughters and I raised funds and ran the 5k race at the Toronto Marathon in honour of him to benefit multiple myeloma research at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto, Canada. Princess Margaret Hospital is one of the top five cancer research centres in the world. I personally raised $370.

This year Eddy's daughter and I are running the half-marathon and I am asking you to open your hearts and help me reach my fundraising goal. I'm not asking for hundreds of dollars; even donating a dollar makes a difference. If you're not in a position to donate, moral support is definitely welcome. Below is the link to my fundraising page. You can pay by credit card or, if you prefer to write a cheque, send me an email or leave me a comment and I will give you the information you will need. Please forward a link to this blog to anyone you think might be interested in supporting me. Thank you and God bless.

Kristin

Please note: The event is called "5k Your Way", but I am in fact running the half-marathon event of the Goodlife Fitness Toronto Marathon

Hi Kirsten, I am sorry but I do not feel I can add more links for fund raising to my 'blog' as this site is mostly poems dedicated to my husband and the requests would never end. I do support many Multiple Myeloma/Cancer Charities here in UK and I do wish you well with your great support. Susie

Hi Susie, thank you for responding. I know what it's like to be a "carer" and I wish you and your husband the best. Don't give up the fight!
